GEARHEAD APPAREL

The 2JZ-GTE. The RB26DETT. The 4G63T. The K-series. Four engines that earned their reputations the hard way, each one reduced to the single part that tells you which is which.

No bore count is the same. No coolant passage layout is the same. Put a 2JZ gasket next to an RB26 gasket and anyone who has had either engine apart will name them both without hesitating. That is the whole idea.

It is a quiet way to rep a platform. Nobody who does not know will ask. Everybody who does will notice from across a parking lot.

Printed on premium ring-spun cotton and heavyweight brushed fleece, cut relaxed, sized S through 4XL. Shirts are $32. Hoodies are $55.

WHY THE HEAD GASKET

Of every part in an engine, the head gasket is the one that decides how far it goes. It seals combustion pressure, coolant, and oil between the block and the head, and under boost it is almost always the first thing to give. Ask anyone who has built a 2JZ past the factory numbers what they replaced first.

It is also the one part whose shape belongs to one engine and nothing else. Bore count, bore spacing, coolant jacket routing, fire ring placement. A gasket is an engine’s fingerprint.

That is why it is on a shirt instead of a badge or a silhouette.

THE ENGINES

The 2JZ-GTE is the 3.0-litre inline-six that made 800 horsepower on stock internals a reasonable sentence. Cast-iron closed-deck block, sequential twin turbos, MkIV Supra and Aristo.

The RB26DETT is 2.6 litres of twin-turbo inline-six with six individual throttle bodies, built to a displacement Group A regulations chose for it. It is why the R32 got called Godzilla.

The 4G63T is the rally engine. Four cylinders, one turbo, four WRC manufacturer titles, and every Evo from I through IX. In the States it came in the DSM cars.

The K-series is Honda’s answer to everything. A K20 spins to 8,600 rpm. A K24 pulls harder everywhere below six. Put the head of one on the block of the other and you get the build that became its own category.
