Rally-bred, turbocharged, and still winning arguments in parking lots.
This shirt carries the 4G63T head-gasket design: four 85mm bores, the coolant passage layout, the fire rings that have to hold whatever boost the owner talked themselves into.
Clean, small, and quiet. No rally livery, no lancer silhouette, no flames. Just the part, printed on a soft heavyweight tee.
For the people who still argue about 6-bolt versus 7-bolt.
ABOUT THE 4G63T
The name decodes cleanly once you know the system. 4 is the cylinder count. G is the engine family. 6 marks it as a 2.0-liter. 3 is the variant. T is turbocharged. Mitsubishi built it from 1980 into the 2000s, and it became the backbone of one of the most successful rally programs in history.
The defining split in the 4G63 world is 6-bolt versus 7-bolt, referring to how many bolts hold the flywheel to the crank. Earlier 6-bolt engines are the ones builders hunt for. Later 7-bolt blocks carry a reputation for crank walk, thrust bearing wear that lets the crankshaft move fore and aft until something expensive happens.
It powered the Lancer Evolution from I through IX and the DSM cars in the States: the Eclipse, the Talon, and the Laser. Four WRC manufacturer titles came out of this engine family.
